FARGO PENNY SALES TAX
1% Infrastructure Sales Tax Extension

The BIA Board of Directors has voted to support the extension of Fargo’s one-cent sales tax dedicated to infrastructure. The Association believes its extension is a responsible and forward-thinking decision for the community.

Revenue from the sales tax plays a critical role in maintaining and improving essential city services, including streets, water systems and sewer infrastructure. Without this funding source, costs would likely shift to residents through higher utility rates, increased property taxes and special assessments.

By continuing the sales tax, the financial burden is more broadly shared, ensuring that visitors to Fargo also contribute to the upkeep of the city’s infrastructure while utilizing these services.
