It’s that time of year! We are preparing for (or already into) the winter season.
As jobsites tend to get a little less hectic, now is a suitable time to remind you about OSHA’s current National Emphasis Programs (NEPs) and Regional Local Emphasis Programs (LEPs). When planning your 2024 annual training, remember to account for training that is addressed in the NEPs and LEPs.

ND Association of Builders installs Spaeth as president

North Dakota Association of Builders hosted its annual banquet and board meeting in Fargo earlier this month at Radisson. They installed our very own HBA of F-M member, Tom Spaeth, Accent Contracting, as 2024 president. Congratulations!
NDAB also hosted a BUILD-PAC fundraiser and heard from Home Builders Institute CEO Ed Brady, discussing the importance of implementing the HBA curriculum into our schools to help with educating the next generation of building professionals!

Volunteer at Health, Tech & Trades Career Expo Thursday
|
Sign up to volunteer at the Home Builders Care Foundation/HBA of F-M booth at the Health, Tech & Trades Career Expo Nov. 30.
The event runs 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Fargodome. There are three consecutive 2.5-hour volunteer shifts from 7 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
We need both tool-savvy and greeter volunteers, but the most need is those to greet and hand out swag bags to the students.

Nov. 29 NRASP Safety & Health Conference This one-day conference offers expert speakers on the MOST important safety topics, plus continuing education units and vendor booths. This year it has added a game social! Cost is $75.

Nov. 30 Health, Tech & Trades Career Expo Each year 4,000+ students attend at the Fargodome. It is designed to promote various industries to 9th graders in Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo and area rural public and private schools. Volunteer!

Dec 12 Ladder Safety Session How many times in a day do you or your team use a ladder? How about at home? Slips and falls from ladders are a common occurrence. Learn how to properly set up a ladder and use it, inspections, jack scaffold safety and how to pick the correct ladder for the job. Cost is $20.

Jan. 18 New Year Celebration Join HBA of F-M and Home Builders Care Foundation as we welcome 2024, make connections and mingle with our city and community leaders. Big news!
