Keep it Local Coalition Update

As we've been communicating our opposition to the initiated ballot measure seeking to eliminate property taxes in North Dakota, we'd like to give you an update on its status.

On June 28, the group "End Unfair Property Tax" submitted over 40,000 signatures. They need 31,164 signatures to get the measure on the ballot. The Secretary of State's office has until Aug. 2 to verify the signatures.

A recent letter by Ken Wangen, fire chief for the Carrington Fire Department and president of the North Dakota Fire Chiefs Association outlines many of the concerns that we share.

Fargo Growth Plan Final Draft

An updated draft from July is available on fargogrowthplan.org. We encourage you to read through it. It will be presented to the Planning Commission on Aug. 6 and the City Commission on Aug. 19. There they will consider adoption of the plan. The next steps include updating the Land Development Code and changes to economic incentive programs.
