October's Building Industry Connect: Fargo Measures 1 and 2

Measure 1, Fargodome Fit Up: 0.25% sales tax for 20 years. Click here for details.

Measure 2, Convention Center: 3% lodging tax for 25 years. Click here for details.

We were joined by Rob Sobolik and Dave Suppes representing the Fargodome, Charley Johnson and the Visit Fargo-Moorhead team, and Mayor Mahoney for our Building Industry Connect earlier this month. They each provided great insight into the proposed measures and what the increase in sales tax and lodging tax could help accomplish for the region. The BIA-RRV board of directors voted to support both measures as they will assist in Fargo's growth and the economic vitality of our community.

BIA-RRV hosts first commercial builder/industry roundtable

Oct. 24 was the first BIA-RRV roundtable to bring commercial industry peers together to discuss their involvement in the Association and their challenges. While the BIA-RRV has represented the commercial industry for years, the name change earlier this year solidified the Association's commitment to being more inclusive to all facets of the building industry.

The roundtable's goal was to figure out how the BIA can be of greater assistance to our commercial members and encourage engagement in the BIA's advocacy work.
