NAHB and other groups seek $1.2 billion to boost transformer production

NAHB and other members of a coalition sent a joint letter to Republican and Democratic Senate leaders, supporting a provision in the Senate Energy and Water Development Appropriations bill to address the growing supply-chain crisis for distribution transformers.

This group included the American Public Power Association, Edison Electric Institute, The GridWise Alliance, the Leading Builders of America, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association,

With NAHB members reporting 12 to 24 months as wait times and increased prices, this funding is critical.

Fargo

HBA of F-M sends letter of support for infrastructure sales tax

Your association sent a letter in support of extending Fargo's sales tax for infrastructure and a reallocation to include a half cent of the tax going towards streets.

There are currently two half-percent sales taxes going to flood protection and an additional one-fourth of the one percent infrastructure sales tax. Engineering presented that the quarter cent could be reallocated to street improvements, resulting in a half cent for streets.

Fargo is experiencing the challenge of infrastructure needs outpacing revenue and we believe by taking this proactive approach, a positive impact can be made.

Infrastructure and street improvements enhance our community, assist in the safety of residents and wherewithal of transportation, and boost property values. With the growth Fargo is experiencing, quality infrastructure is especially necessary.

Preferred Growth Scenario

In our last update, we included a link to Fargo's preferred growth scenario. The city is asking for your feedback and we encourage you to look over the scenario and send your comments or questions to Kim Citrowske, planning coordinator.
