Building Industry Connect with Richland County

Wednesday, September 21, 2022 (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM) (CDT)

Description

September's Building Industry Connect welcomes officials from Richland County and the Southern Valley Economic Development Authority to share information and discuss exciting new opportunities in their region. One example is Colfax Meadows' new housing program offering nearly risk-free opportunities for builders to construct and sell speculative homes within the community. Colfax, North Dakota, is a growing community located off I-29 between Fargo and Wahpeton. This small town is ideal for those who want the simplicity of country living yet desire to live in a neighborhood with amenities. This is part of a housing program to encourage the construction of new and renovate existing homes in Richland and Wilkin Counties.

About our guests:

  • Nathan Berseth is a native of Colfax, ND, and attended North Dakota State College of Science and Minnesota State University Moorhead. He currently works at Bell Bank, and prior to that worked for U.S. Senator Byron Dorgan and launched a few of his own companies. In addition to his work, he holds the position of Richland County Commissioner and president of the Richland #44 school board. He and his family live in rural Colfax.
  • Justin Neppl has been the executive regional economic development director for the Southern Valley Economic Development Authority (SVEDA) which includes Richland County, ND, and Wilkin County, MN, for 4 years. In the past year and a half, SVEDA has also included housing efforts to support business and economic development. Previously, Justin spent 5 years as a business consultant with the North Dakota Small Business Development Center and was in banking and commercial finance for 10 years. He and his wife, Jamie, have been in business for over 15 years owning and operating several childcare locations in the region.

The HBA of F-M's Building Industry Connect sessions are a chance for our members to introduce the association and its goals. No presentations, no agendas and no parliamentary procedures. Just the chance for officials and members to learn about each other.

Admission requires a $25 admission and includes lunch.
