Marketing & Sales Internship Opportunities

The Building Industry Association of the RRV invites students and recent graduates to express their interest in internship opportunities. By submitting your application, you'll be considered for openings as they become available. There is no deadline to apply, but we will evaluate applicants on a rolling basis and be in touch on the current internship opening status.

Marketing & Sales Internship Description:

This person assists the BIA-RRV staff with production of the BIA-RRV’s member events, Red River Valley Home & Garden Show and the Parade of Homes. They may also assist with events and programming related to the BIA’s charitable foundation (example: Giving Hearts Day).  

Depending on the organization’s needs, the intern may also be active in communications support. This internship provides a wealth of experience and opportunity in the sales, marketing, public relations, communication and event management fields. Prior interns have been successful securing jobs relevant to their aspirations.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

• commit 10-20 hours per week with flexibility, usually lasting through at least one semester/term;
• be available to work after hours for applicable events like our Golf Outings, Parade of Homes, the Red River Valley Home & Garden Show, etc.;
• be a student with junior or senior status studying marketing, business, sales or communications taking internship for credit;
• have ability to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing;
• be willing to make sales inquiries with the BIA-RRV membership via telephone, in person and via email;
• have ability to write reports, business correspondence, press releases, informational articles and promotional materials;
• be proficient with Microsoft Office;
• have ability to pay attention to detail and to meet deadlines;
• possess organizational skills and be able to multi-task;
• have ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals and to communicate regularly with supervisor and other staff about work-related issues;
• be capable of reporting to work on time prepared to perform duties of the position.

Knowledge of social media including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X is a plus. Salary will be at minimum wage or more, depending on applicants.
