Crystal Nelson, Fargo Ergonomics, becomes ND's first Board Certified Professional Ergonomist

Opportunities Fun Facts

Crystal Nelson, founder of Fargo Ergonomics, announces that she has officially become a Board Certified Professional Ergonomist.

This designation comes from the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics which conducts a rigorous process for professionals to earn the certification. Applicants must meet educational requirements, and demonstrate a set of core competencies. These core competencies were identified and validated through formal job analysis and are considered essential skills of competent human factors/ergonomic professionals.

Crystal says, "This is the gold standard when it comes to ergonomics. There are only 1,500 of us worldwide. I am lucky enough to be the first one in the state of ND!"

Ergonomics is the study of people in their working environment. Not many people think about their posture or how they position themselves. Crystal says things as simple as how your chair sits and where your elbows are in relation to your keyboard can have lasting health impacts.

She is hard at work solving problems most people don’t even realize they have. From construction sites to office desks, Nelson has made it her mission to help workplaces across the region become healthier, safer, and more productive.

Crystal isn't limited to the office, she covers worksites of all kinds.

"I've worked with plumbing, electricians, construction and concrete workers, Crystal says.

Crystal’s journey is proof that even small changes can lead to big results. One posture correction at a time, she’s helping Fargo workplaces become places where employees can thrive—because everyone deserves to go home feeling as good as when they arrived.
