This course will cover basic theory and hands on application for one of the following welding processes; Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick), Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) or Flux Core Arc Welding. Students will learn the safety practices associated with the welding trades. All standards used are based on AWS D1.1-2025, AWS QC1, AWS Entry-Level SENSE and industry standards.

Students need to obtain a minimum of 70% on all quizzes, tests and hands-on assignments.
Attendance is mandatory to complete this course. If a student is absent or tardy three times, they will not be able to continue the course. At the end of the course, the students have the opportunity to take a Welder Qualification Test. In order to take a qualification test, all skill demos/work orders must be at 70% minimum and 100% in the process used in the qualification test. Upon successful completion of that test, students will be certified to the welding process and position the test was performed.
